Decision Crisis

Lotro just lost me again. I simply can't force myself to log in and play, although two weeks ago I really enjoyed the game. But not now.
Why is that? Partly because Paint Bomb is almost out of the door, and I rather spend my free time with developing that than playing Lotro. Also, I became interested in two other games (and almost at once, which is annoying!) and I'd like to play them already, instead of Lotro. To be precise, for monetary reasons, only one of them; that why I am in a crisis.
These two, as you may know from the first post, are The Secret World, and Guild Wars 2. For both of these I have cons and pros, some of which is really important.
Let's see these side by side:

The Secret World Guild Wars 2
Pros:
  • Unique Environment
  • Action style combat
  • Classless
  • Quests are different
  • Interesting environmental
    effects
  • Dungeon learning curve
Cons:
  • Monthly fee
  • Soloability is unclear
Pros:
  • Free to play once bought
  • Quest System is totally
    overhauled
  • Action style combat
  • World events -
    Very Solo friendly
  • WvsW
Cons:
  • Fantasy setting

I will update these when I can think of others. Please, feel free to educate me on any of the above, if you think you have a good understanding of the topic.

  1. GW2 Con "Fantasy setting"? Explain?

  2. Sure. That's my private issue lately, I'd like to play something different than the normal medieval+magic setting. Of course this is not really an issue for others.

    1. I have the same problem with Fantasy MMOs, and it was one of the my reasons for choosing TSW over GW2 despite being a GW fan.
Admittedly the monthly sub is an important factor and I was hesitate about it but I was finally swayed by the fact TSW is cheaper to purchase than GW2 (£10 difference for me)

  4. As I always say, if you have to think about a deciscion for longer than ten seconds, it won't matter which one you choose. In other words, if two things seem equally good, then you're safe to go with either one, just decide by flipping a coin. If you don't you'll end up like Buridan's Ass. 5. @welshtroll It's the same for me, as I live in the UK (although I am not, as you surely spotted, native) But I assume that the monthly fee will be about £10, so by the third month, TSW will be more expensive.

    @biobreak Thanks

@Efithor I choose a different path, which is trying to find how other people see this problem, and why. But, in the end, if after a while I'll still be undecided, I'll pick up a coin..
